Inaugurated in 2017, it is located on the long-distance trails, GR11, GR7, GRPaís of the Principality of Andorra, the "Ruta dels estanys amagats" and the Coronallacs route. It is connected to the Malniu, Estanys de la Pera refuges and the other 3 guarded refuges in Andorra (Juclar, Sorteny and Comapedrosa). It is located in the Madriu-Perafita-Claror valley, declared a WORLD HERITAGE SITE in 2004 by UNESCO.
