Next to Oulettas de Gaube refuge (2158 m) a bridge crosses to the left bank of the stream, where a signpost indicates the direction to follow. The path covers some flat land heading south next to the meadow and soon starts to climb towards the pass. The path is more obvious at this point with some painted markings and relentlessly snakes up the slope to reach Mulos pass (2594 m). It then heads down and soon arrives at a crossing (2522 m) where a barely discernible path forks right and borders the rock field towards Coth d'Arratilha (crossing with route 18). We carry on down the left side following the painted markings until, at approximately 2360 m. At this altitude we should then leave the markings and head towards the south (cairns and a partial path) going down the valley on the left bank of the River Ara.
This will take us to Mallata Batans, where the path joins the GR 11 long distance footpath. We then head up the River Ara for a short while and wade across it where the markings indicate before continuing our ascent up the right bank. We leave the GR, cross the Batans ravine (crossing with route 22) and although there is no clear path, we look for the cairns taking us upstream following the stream flowing out of Ibón dera Montañeta . We reach this lake up a steep slope (2265 m) and afterwards we head off to Ibón deras Neberas (2381 m) (crossing with route 20). We border round both lakes and finally reach the top at Cuello dero Letrero (2642 m).
The path is better marked here and the route heads towards Ibón Alto de Gramatuero (2510 m). We follow it round to the south and from the dam we descend to the end of Ibón Baxo de Gramatuero (2293 m). We follow the right bank, cross the dam and start to descend towards Ibón Alto de Bachimaña, which we border round to the east. Shortly after the dam we find Mal Paso, a sloping shelf that we climb up easily with the help of a wire rope. Next to the south end of the wall the path heads off on a good surface round the south side of Ibón Baxo to the door of Ibones de Bachimaña refuge (2197 m).
