Refuge has a year-round manager
The Escuela-Refugio de Alquézar (ERA, Alquézar Mountain Hut-School) seeks to meet different needs in one single building. Not only does it have space to house different kinds of users, but it also is a perfect place to hold training courses and activities. Located in the Sierra y los Cañones de Guara Natural Park, in the town that lends it its name, the ERA is also an approved centre for teaching Mountain Sports Technicians courses. The centre is popular with a variety of different users including mountaineers, rock climbers, canyoners, nature lovers, culture enthusiasts, and so on. The premises are fully equipped with all the necessary resources as is only fitting for such a unique natural setting in the Sierra y los Cañones de Guara Natural Park with such rich architectural heritage as can be found in the village of Alquézar. The ERA has been awarded the Distintivo de Compromiso con la Calidad Turística (Insignia for Commitment to Quality Tourism).
