Refuge has a year-round manager
Lying at the crossroads of the Marcadau and Gaube valleys, Chalet Refuge El Clot (El Clot Mountain Hut) is located in the antechamber to two of the most beautiful valleys of the Pyrenees, in the region of Cauterets (France). It is an ideal starting point for exploring the summits of the Vignemale and the Grand Facha. It also lies along a stage of the northern GR 10 Trans Pyrenees hiking trail and along the routes to Respomuso, Bachimaña and Gavarnie. El Clot is in the heart of the cross-country ski resort of Pont d’Espagne and surrounded by an impressive series of climbing routes. It is relatively easy to reach, being just a 20 minutes on foot from the Pont d’Espagne car park or 2 hours from Cauterets along the waterfalls route.
