A well marked path borders round the north of Respomuso refuge (2200 m) and crosses the ravine of the same name, heading towards the southeast over flat land. It reaches Ibón deras Ranas and shortly afterwards Campo Plano lake (2150 m). The path passes by a shepherds hut next to the dam before descending towards the bank (crossing with route 15), where the path becomes less obvious but arrows indicate the direction follow. We cross several streams before coming out onto a plain and heading upwards towards the east and Campo Plano ravine. The path reappears and follows the stream on the left bank ascending constantly. We reach what appears to be the top of the hill where the lowest of the Faxa lakes is (2520 m). The terrain becomes harder going and the path is not always very obvious. There are however a lot of markers indicating the route bordering around the lake a few metres above the bank, leaving it to our left. This is a fairly difficult stretch because of the presence of snow at this point. After the final climb over a boulder field and loose stones, we reach Cuello dera Faxa (2665 m) (crossing with route 26).
A clear path descends down the French side of the mountain and after a certain distance leaves the northern-most of the Lous d'era Hecha lakes to our right, which we could see from the pass. The slope steepens and the path passes near anotehr small lake, Houn dets Espagnols (2291 m), and crosses the overflow stream shortly afterwards. A fleeting view of Marcadau-Wallon refuge can be seen before a long descend snaking down a grassy hillside to reach the valley floor where there is a bridge over Rol del Port de Marcadau (1925 m) (crossing with route 17). We cross over this small footbridge and then another one shortly after, and through some trees towards the visible refuge on the other side of the river. After crossing another bridge we only have to climb the short slope to arrive at Wallon-Marcadau refuge (1865 m).
